Leave the rest as it is and then click on the Convert/Save button or just hit enter in your keyboard. Click on the Add button to browse for the files that you want to add. I used the Media -> Convert / Save dialog to do it. Here is how you convert video using VLC Media Player: From VLC menu bar click on Media > Convert/ Save Shortcut: CTRL + R Open Media dialog box is opened. To stop recording, right-click on the video and choose ' Record ' option again. VLC provide the advanced control panel, just click view > advanced controls and click the red button on the new control panel on the bottom when you want it to start recording, click another time to stop it. I couldnt get audio to work when using the record button on a local video either. What does "Dump Raw Input" next to "file" do? Right-click on the video and choose ' Record ' ( red circle icon) option, then play the video and VLC will start the recording.
